What is mySupermarket?

mySupermarket is more than a price comparison site. We are completely independent from the supermarkets, helping shoppers save 30% on average on each grocery shop. Our free to use site aims to help shoppers save money on their grocery shop.

Our goal is to provide shoppers with a wealth of information to make pricing, promotion and product information as transparent as possible for shoppers. As a consumer champion we are proud to work for the customer to ensure they get the best value for their household, on each and every shop.

How does mySupermarket work?

 

mySupermarket collects prices directly from the main Malaysia supermarkets and we update our site daily, which means that we have all the latest prices and promotions available for you.

Just like you would with any other online supermarket, you can use us to fill your basket with products. While you shop, we compare your basket in all the retailers and give you the option to switch your basket to the cheaper supermarket. If your prefer not to switch to a cheaper supermarket then you can continue saving money through our smart swaps suggestions and replacements to help you save even more money by buying products that have a Price Per Unit (PPU).

How does the site compare prices?

The goal of mySupermarket is to help you make the most cost effective shop possible. One of the key ways we achieve this is through price comparison.

Throughout the website you will be able to compare the price of the item you are shopping at against the price of the same or very similar products in a different retailer.

We use a complex algorithm to calculate swaps on mySupermarket. A lot of variables are taken into account including item similarity, price, popularity and availability. The system works to find the closest alternative based on the lowest price.

Our in-house Data Team works daily to ensure that all our price comparisons are linked in the most logical and savvy shopping friendly manner. If you spot a swap that doesn’t look quite right, please email our Customer Support Team here. Be sure to include the full product name that you were swapping and if possible, attach a screenshot.

Our Support Team checks each email received with the Data Team and is happy to make changes based on our customer feedback.

Can I save money even if I don't shop online?

It’s up to you how you use our site: You can order your basket online, print your basket as a shopping list and take it with you to your local supermarket or simply just compare different supermarket prices online.

While you shop, we compare your basket at all the retailers so we can suggest smart swaps and replacements to help you save even more money. The pricing information on mySupermarket is designed to match the online pricing information of the retailers featured on our site.

We understand that from time to time the price in store may differ from the online pricing. In these instances, we would encourage you confirm the pricing on both the retailer online and mySupermarket online do indeed match.
